Zina Bijan is the founder and principal attorney at Law Offices of Zina Bijan. Before establishing her own practice, Zina worked for private firms as well as federal and state government agencies. Her experience allowed her to realize her dream of opening her own practice.
She received her law degree from University of California, Berkeley School of Law, and obtained her Bachelor’s degree from University of California, Davis in Political Science. During law school, Zina received many awards, and was an editor in Berkeley Journal of Employment and Labor Law.
Attorney Zina Bijan believes that legal assistance should be available to all, not just those who can afford it. For her part, she has worked for non-profit organizations such as Bay Area Legal Aid, and Workers’ Right Clinic and frequently represents many clients pro-bono.
To better serve her clients in whatever issues they are facing, Zina works closely with other attorneys, who specialize in other areas of the law, such as Tax, Estates and Trusts, Family Law, and Personal Injury.
A significant portion of our practice is dedicated to employment law cases. We represent clients in wage and hour claims, as well as offer counseling to businesses regarding employment practices and policies and employment handbooks.
We represent employees whose rights have been violated, and ensure that they receive everything owed to them by their employer, including minimum wages, overtime, rest and meal periods.
As of January 1, 2012, the minimum wage in California is $8.00 per hour (for employees who work in San Francisco, the minimum wage is $10.24). Just because an employee is paid on a salary basis, it does not defeat a claim for wages and hours.
Our team helps clients obtain non-immigration visas, permanent residency (Green Card) and U.S. Citizenship. We will do the work so you don’t have to worry about removals or deportation.
Our legal team also works closely with other attorneys who specialize in Taxation, Wills, Estates and Trusts, Family Law, and Personal Injury.
